Terms of use

These terms set the conditions for accessing Landfill Watch and explain the limits of its screening data, maps, and public demonstration features.

Last updated: 20 July 2026

Operator and acceptance

Landfill Watch is operated by ClimateScope s.r.o., registered at Zenklova 24/54, 180 00 Prague, Czech Republic, Company ID 21884692. Questions about these terms may be sent to info@climatescope.io.

By accessing or using Landfill Watch, you agree to these terms. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to act for that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What the service provides

Landfill Watch provides satellite-assisted screening, map review, case-study material, and related geospatial information. Public functionality is currently provided for demonstration, evaluation, and early-stage review unless ClimateScope agrees otherwise with you in writing.

Landfill candidates are screening leads, not validated findings. They are not an official inventory, a determination that waste is present, a statement that a site is illegal, or a substitute for field verification, expert review, regulatory data, or professional advice.

Permitted use and restrictions

You may use the service for lawful internal evaluation, research, planning, and review, subject to these terms and the attribution and licence terms displayed for each layer. You must not:

  • present a candidate, boundary, score, or map output as a verified fact or legal classification;
  • rely on the service alone for enforcement, safety, environmental, financial, operational, or investment decisions;
  • misuse the service to identify, target, harass, or make unsupported allegations about a person, community, landowner, or operator;
  • bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, interfere with operation, introduce malicious code, or access data beyond the interfaces made available to you;
  • copy, scrape, redistribute, sell, or create derivative datasets from proprietary ClimateScope content except where a written licence expressly permits it; or
  • use the service in violation of law or third-party rights.

Accounts

If account access is made available, you must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, data, or legal compliance.

Data, maps, and third-party services

ClimateScope content, software, branding, and proprietary datasets are owned by ClimateScope or its licensors and remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. No ownership transfers to you under these terms.

Background maps and reference layers may come from providers such as OpenStreetMap, Esri, CARTO, or Copernicus. Their credits and licence terms apply independently. Availability of third-party content does not mean that its provider endorses Landfill Watch or that ClimateScope controls its accuracy, availability, or privacy practices.

Availability and changes

We may maintain, change, restrict, or discontinue parts of the public service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage of workspace state, or compatibility with every browser, device, third-party layer, or external service. We will avoid materially reducing an agreed paid service except as permitted by the separate agreement that governs it.

Warranties and responsibility

The public service and its outputs are provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, ClimateScope does not make implied promises about accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or availability. You remain responsible for validating outputs and for decisions made using them.

To the extent permitted by law, ClimateScope is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the public service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, a remedy, or a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Applicable law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without overriding mandatory protections that apply where you live. Courts of the Czech Republic will have jurisdiction unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version. If a change materially affects account users, we will provide reasonable notice through the service or the contact channel associated with the account.
